Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director, Risk Management in the valuation function activities, i.e. portfolio valuation in accordance with AIFMD requirements, based on practical guidance regarding industry standards such as the International Private Equity & Venture Capital Valuation Guidelines (IPEV) and the European Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles Guidelines (INREV)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in valuation along with a good understanding private equity, debt and real estate assets
  • An understanding of Luxembourg fund regulations, in particular AIFMD is also required
  • Develop & implement sound, technically rigorous, transparent, comprehensive & appropriate documented procedures & processes for model building and reviewing such as DCF models, comparable company models, market multiple, option pricing analyses, loan valuation, real estate valuation, etc.
  • Determine necessary information, identify information owners, set-up instructions & templates, and establish communication flows
  • Perform the periodic asset valuation for alternative assets and prepare valuation reports
  • In particular, define & analyze financial modeling performed for acquisitions using discounted cash flow, market approach and/or transaction approach analyses, reviewing equity and debt securities with hedge funds & private equity funds, purchase price allocations, intellectual property valuations, business unit & asset impairment valuations, intangible asset valuations & stock option valuations for multiple industries, reviewing valuation of complex financial instruments (banks loans, private debt instruments, options and other derivative instruments)
  • Independently gathering data relevant to the valuation through direct client interaction, check quality of input data
  • Analyze valuation reports prepared by external valuer
  • Identify unexpected differences & coordinate with client to close gaps
  • Present the results of your analysis in a clear and concise manner, to support the NAV review and validation performed by the risk management team
  • Liaising with auditors on valuation matters
  • Escalate valuation issues to management
  • Monitor changing regulations, providing input to develop implementation guidance & new financial reporting rules with valuation implications
  • Act as first point of contact for all valuation topics
  • Other ad-hoc analysis and tasks to assist the growth of the ManCo business and ensure smooth running of daily activities

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance/Economics or similar
  • At least 5 years’ experience in valuation
  • Good knowledge of valuation of private equity, debt and real estate assets
  • Experience in Alternative Investment Funds
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially excel
  • Sounds understanding of Luxembourg fund regulations, in particular
  • Knowledge of VBA and/or SQL
  • Outstanding communication skills with an ability to handle multiple business tasks
  • Fluency in English language, both written and spoken
  • Good working knowledge of French or any European language
