Finance Director, Fund Management will be responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight of a Luxembourg-based family office managing an infrastructure fund targeting energy transition opportunities. The fund will invest in sustainable infrastructure projects, specifically waste-to-energy, district heating, and renewable energy combined with energy storage. Finance Director will oversee all financial operations associated with the family office and the fund, and be the key liaison with the fund’s depositary, external asset managers, and other stakeholders. Its most important role, however, will be to manage the fundraising process. This role demands a dynamic leader with expertise in both energy transition infrastructure investments and financial management, as well as experience in collaborating with external parties to ensure optimal fund performance and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the Group’s financial strategy, ensuring its alignment with long-term financial and sustainability goals
  • Manage fundraising processes (equity, bonds, bank debt) for the Group’s waste management activities, and both Luxembourg family office and infrastructure fund, using primarily Eneris Group resources
  • Ensure the fund’s portfolio is well-diversified, balancing financial returns with positive environmental and social impacts
  • Oversee and guide the selection and management of key investments, including asset acquisition, due diligence, and negotiations
  • Stay abreast of energy transition trends, technological innovations, and regulatory changes to proactively adjust the fund’s strategy and risk profile
  • Manage all financial aspects of the Luxembourg family office and infrastructure fund, including budgeting, forecasting and financial performance monitoring
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the family office, the depositary, and external asset managers to ensure smooth operations and alignment of interests
  • Ensure the fund’s activities are in full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance policies
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of investment opportunities in the waste-to-energy, district heating, and renewable energy combined with energy storage
  • Develop and implement liquidity events at the most optimal times, ensuring that the fund’s investments maximize returns to investors
  • Act as the fund’s representative in investor meetings enhancing the fund’s reputation and strengthening its relationships with key stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
  • MBA, Master’s in Finance, or advanced degrees related to energy, sustainability, or infrastructure are highly preferred
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) are a plus
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in fund infrastructure investment, or energy transition projects
  • Proven track record in fundraising and managing funds, family offices or investment companies
  • Expertise in energy transition sectors, including waste-to-energy, district heating, renewable energy, and energy storage
  • Experience working with external asset managers, depositaries, and in managing complex relationships across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of Luxembourg financial regulations and tax structures related to fund management, with experience in cross-border investments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale infrastructure investments, from acquisition through to exit
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic decision-making skills
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with experience in assessing complex infrastructure projects
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and governance within Luxembourg, Europe, and the energy sector
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks and impact investing, particularly within energy transition infrastructure
